Encounters include monsters which vary in strength elite enemies which offer enhanced rewards campfires to heal or upgrade cards to more powerful versions shopkeepers to buy cards, relics and potions from, as well as to remove cards from the deck chests with random loot and random choice-based encounters. The goal is to work through several levels of a spire, each level having a number of potential encounters distributed in a branching structure with a boss character at the end of the level. At the start of a playthrough the player selects one of four predetermined characters, which sets a starting amount of health, gold, a starting relic that provides a unique ability for that character, and an initial deck of cards with basic attack and defense cards as well what potential color-coded cards tailored to that character they will see through the run. Slay the Spire is a combination of roguelike-inspired progression and the gameplay of a deck-building card game. It was nominated for several accolades in 2019, and is considered the game that launched a number of roguelike deck-building games. Slay the Spire has been very well received. Combat takes place through a collectible card game-based system, with the player gaining new cards as rewards from combat and other means, requiring the player to use strategies of deck-building games to construct an effective deck to complete the climb. In Slay the Spire, the player, through one of four characters, attempts to ascend a spire of multiple floors, created through procedural generation, battling through enemies and bosses.

Freezing and charge-up damage also makes me think that it will have the ability to Slow opponents, so I can't wait to play it.Slay the Spire is a roguelike deck-building video game developed by American studio MegaCrit and published by Humble Bundle. It seems likely that the 3rd class, is robotic in nature, is associated with blue, magic, and frost, and will have the ability to do enormous damage to its enemies once it charges up. I wonder if the 3rd class will be able to charge-up in some similar fashion and then unleash enormous damage to its enemies. They both seem to be of mechanical nature, and Automaton's signature attack is the hyper-beam, which does tons of damage. So the Bronze Automaton must be the nemesis of Crowbot. The Corruptor is dressed in green with a skull on his head and applies massive debuffs and weaknesses to opponents, like the Silent does. The Champion is super tanky and clad in heavy armor, a clear reference to the, well, the Ironclad. They are the evil mirror images of the three classes. The 3 City bosses are not designed by chance. But does this mean that its affinity is in cold spells? Will it have the ability to freeze opponents? It is also likely that the 3rd class is going to be a mage, since blue is the color of the mage cult. Clearly the color of the third class is blue, it was recently confirmed by an update. We know it is blue, it is very very cold and it upgrades Powers. By extension, Frozen Egg must be a reference to Crowbot.

Toxic egg reflects the dexterity of the Silent, it is green and upgrades Skills. It is also associated with fire, and the Ironclad has many fire cards in his deck (Immolate, Inflame, Combust).

Molten egg reflects the strength of the Ironclad, it is red and upgrades attacks. I think they reflect the respective three classes. There are three very powerful relics in the game that have the ability to upgrade future card pick-ups, namely the three eggs (molten, toxic, and frozen). Is it a servant of the cult turned against its masters? If this is the case, then the 3rd character seems to be a mechanical bird, possibly a referrence to the weird half-bird-half-human mage cult that occupies the spire (Awaken One and her cultists). This seems to have come by exctracting it from the beta files. Some time ago (I think back in Feb) there was a post that the name of the character is Crowbot. There is very little information on who the 3rd Character is going to be (or when she is going to be released), but I think the devs have purposefully left some tandalizing hints for us to speculate.
